Planning a transport
For domestic missions, we can often have wheels up within 4–36 hours of approval. International missions typically require 12–48 hours for permits, overflight clearances, and crew positioning, though we have launched faster when medically necessary.
An air ambulance is a dedicated medical aircraft for critically ill patients who need ICU-level care in flight. A medical escort places a flight nurse or paramedic alongside a stable patient on a scheduled commercial flight. Escorts are significantly less expensive but only appropriate when the patient's condition permits.
Pricing varies widely based on distance, aircraft type, crew configuration, and international complications. Domestic missions typically range from $15,000 to $50,000. International missions can range from $30,000 to $200,000+. Insurance often covers a substantial portion — our team will walk you through what to expect before you commit.
Yes. Our fleet includes aircraft capable of operating from shorter runways, and we coordinate ground transport on both ends. In cases where a runway isn't available, we can arrange helicopter transfer to the nearest suitable airfield.
Medical capability
Yes. We arrange aircraft which carry ICU-grade ventilators (Hamilton T1 or LTV series) with both pressure and volume modes.
Yes. We have specialized ECMO transport capability with a trained perfusionist, appropriate aircraft configuration, and equipment certified for in-flight operation. ECMO transports require a longer coordination window — typically 24+ hours.
Usually yes, depending on the aircraft and the patient's clinical needs. Most of our long-range aircraft can accommodate 1–3 family members. If space is limited, we can arrange for family to travel on a commercial flight and meet the patient at destination.
Yes, with appropriate isolation protocols and crew PPE. We handle common infectious cases routinely. For highly contagious or emerging pathogens, we have isolation-pod capability on certain aircraft — discuss specifics with our medical director.
Insurance & payment
It depends on your plan, the diagnosis, and the medical necessity documentation. Some major carriers cover air ambulance transport in some form. Our team will verify coverage and seek pre-authorization before you commit to a mission.
Our reimbursement specialists can assist in filing appeals on your behalf with supporting clinical documentation. If the denial is upheld, we'll work with you on a payment arrangement rather than pursuing aggressive collection.
For self-pay clients, we offer structured payment plans and partner with medical financing companies for longer-term options. We'll discuss available options before you commit to a mission.
Every mission starts with a conversation.
Whether you need a quote, a second opinion on a transfer plan, or an immediate bedside pickup — we're standing by.
